KOSTAS THEODOROU - Doble Bass, Percussion
Born in 1965 and grew up in west Macedonia, Greece.
Started with music at the age of 15, playing guitar. In 1983 he moved to Thessaloniki playing with different musicians in several groups as a guitar player and then as an electric bass player. Later, in ’89 jumped to the Double - Bass and by that time, travelling for many years with a mobile house through all central and western Europe making music, learning at the same time many different instruments from different countries. In general, a self taught musician.

From the year ’97 he returned to his home village making music and travelling all over the world (U.S.A.-Australia-Argentina….) The last years he has built up his own ensemble featuring prominent musicians from the Greek scene and participating in various festivals.

He has worked together with: Mikis Theodorakis, Dionisis Savvopoulos, Kyriakos Sfetsas, Nikos Kypourgos, Michalis Siganidis, Savina Gianatou, Haig Yazdjian, Ara Dinkjian, Arto Tuncboyaciyan, Theodosii Spassov, Vlatko Stefanovski, Tamara Obrovac, Khalil Karaduman, the group “Ashkhabad”, the National Theater of Greece, Frank Kollges, Jaki Liebezeit, Danny Hayes and many others.

ELSA MOURATIDOU
Combined from the beginning with the sound of voice, Elsa Mouratidou was born in Thessaloniki. Fom early age she entered the quest of sounds and songs. She begun with piano lessons and theory of music and participated in a number of concerts with the children’s choir of Agia Triada where she gained her bacic knowledge in the instrument of voice. She continued later sudying modern singing with Eleni Mihalopoulou.
Since 1996 “proffesionally”now, she had the chance of participating in various music groups singing traditional, rebetiko from the decade of 1930 and more modern greek music. She colaborated in concerts around Greece with various greek artists- singers: M. Mitsias, Ant. Kalogiannis, D. Mpassis, V. lekkas, Ger. Andreatos, K. Pavlidis, G. Kazantzis.

In a mood of experimentation she was brought in theatrical singing in the children’s musical “na leipoun ta byssina”(music K. Vomvolos) and 2 performances with the National State Theatre of Northern Greece: “ta elafia kai oi katares”Mustafa Avkiran, “Women of Trahis”, Sophocles as the leader of the chorus.

As a member of the group BOPEIOI ETAIPOI since 2002 she is into improvisational music mixing Balcan melodies with the jazz sound. Occasionally the band appears in concert with Theodosii Spassov. Their first album with the title “from tradition to jazz”has been recently released by Universal Music Greece .
